Facebook is a funny thing. Originally started and used at Harvard College to promote campus community Facebook has exploded and everyone seems to be using it, including me. I was first contacted by my high school classmates who were looking to put on a class reunion.

It is fun to reunite with old classmates and see not only what they are doing but what they look like. The other cool thing that I found out was that you can also connect to others with who you didn't hang out with in high school.

For instance, here is some work from an old high school classmate, Derek, that I think is real cool. This person, who had the persona as the tough rocker kid in high school has carved his own niche and created something new and fresh. He has taken up sewing to create some unusual creatures. These creatures (don't want to go as far and say they are dolls) are all different and are sparked by a wild imagination.

I respect that Derek has the balls to go do his own thing and create some unique creations. More importantly, it seems that he enjoys doing it. Now this isn't his 9-5 job, which he struggles through Monday through Friday but it is his hobby and side gig.

Maybe it is because I enjoyed the Muppets when I grew up or maybe it is because Derek has the mind and talent to do something unique (or maybe I am just jealous) but this is something that I think is going to be big.

Check out the rest.... (Also one of my blog links - the rootcellar)
